Uganda is known as the “pearl of Africa” with the source of the River Nile found in its borders, as well as the famous mountain gorilla. But what is lesser known about Uganda are the struggles that the majority of Ugandans face in doing business.
Uganda ranks at 115 out of 190 countries for the ease of doing business, with the average income per capita being $660 USD/annum. Starting a business and getting electricity are two of the biggest challenges that Ugandans face (ranking 168 and 169 out of 190 countries).
ICM-USA has joined hands with ICM Uganda to address some of these challenges. ICM Uganda seeks to train and equip church leaders both formally and informally, and Discipling Marketplace Leaders will help to reach many of the pastors already trained to begin discipling their members to the purpose of doing business to the glory of God.
DML Uganda is working with a number of churches and denominations. The Pentecostal Assemblies of God (PAG) with 5500 churches and over one million members has indicated an interest to have the DML ministry throughout their denomination. Please pray with us as we seek to partner with them to help reclaim the Marketplace for Christ across Uganda!
